Get your feather boas and construction worker helmet. Gay Pride 2012 is here! And that's not all that will be coming out of the closet. Beginning July 28 and running through to the end of this weekend, the hottest parties and events will be taking place all over Amsterdam in honor of Gay Pride.
And August 4 marks the piece de resistance: the Canal Parade.
Starting at 2pm at the Westerdok harbor on the Prinsengracht, the Parade will continue to the Amstel River before snaking past the Magere Brug, Stadhuis, and Musiektheater on its way to the Oosterdok.
A list of participating boats as well as an agenda for the weekend and travel and lodging tips, can be found on the Amsterdam Gay Pride website. Parade participants include YouTube/Google, Drag Queens United, ING Bank N.V., and 77 others.
Street parties and club circuit parties are also on offer throughout the weekend.
