It looks like Kavanaugh will be confirmed. That is good for the privileged white patriarchy, but it is not good for other Americans -- especially women and the LGBT community. Kavanaugh has made it very clear that his decisions will toe the Republican Party line, and Republicans vociferously oppose two supreme Court decisions -- Roe vs. Wade, which protected a woman's right over her own body, and Obergefell vs. Hodges, which guaranteed the right of all Americans to marry the person they love.
Both of those decisions are now in danger of being overturned. However, that is NOT what the American public wants. But a 26 point margin, Americans want Roe vs Wade protected, and by a 16 point margin, they want Obergefell vs. Hodges protected.
But Republican officials have never cared what the people want. They want to impose their minority views on all Americans. It's why they must be voted out of office in November!
The charts above reflect the results of a new Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between September 30th and October 2nd of a national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,227 registered voters). The margin of error for both adults and registered voters is 2.9 points.
