Looking at the chart above, it is easy to see that the public is still pretty disgusted with both political parties. The Democrats have a favorability percentage of only 39%, and the Republicans only 37%. This is the first time since Gallup has been questioning Americans on party favorability that neither party has topped 40%.
I do find the latest numbers interesting though. Note that since the election last November the Democrats have seen their favorability go up by 3 points, while their unfavorability dropped by 7 points. It has been just the opposite for the Republicans -- with their favorability dropping by 5 points, and their unfavorability rising by 1 point.
It seems that the public has not been impressed with the job the Republican majority is doing in Washington.
These numbers are from a Gallup Poll done between March 5th and 8th of a random national sample of 1,025 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points.
