During their first ever trip to New York City just a couple months ago, Alt-J played to a half filled room at Merucry Lounge as direct support to We Are Serenades. Now, with their debut album arriving in the states on September 18 via Canvasback, the band is poised to take our city by storm with two already sold out shows. Most impressive considering they’re also headlining Bowery Ballroom on September 12. Of course, they’re not the only band in town this week worth seeing. Check out Wild Nothing with Grimes, M83, Real Estate, Eternal Summers, St. Lucia, Heavenly Beat, Tame Impala and more. Enjoy!
As always, thanks for checking out our suggested New York City indie concerts list! I won’t list everything that’s going on — just a short collection of great shows happening in our city that you shouldn’t miss this week (ok, this week I went a bit overboard). To make it as easy for you as possible, you can listen to all the bands and sometimes get some free MP3s!
