Alpro Tops Challenge… Brighten up Your Breakfasts!

You might remember that I collaborated with Alpro last year on a fun smoothie recipe series using Alpro products so when they contacted me a few weeks back to take part in the Alpro Tops challenge I was excited to get involved. For those of you unfamiliar with Alpro, they are a company who specialise in plant-based alternatives to milk, deserts, yogurt and cream using hazelnut, soya and almond. I’m not a huge dairy fan so I really like their almond milk. Alpro products are still full of nutrients and are 100% plant-based & are great for if you are trying to wean yourself off dairy.

Basically the aim of the Alpro Tops challenge is to incorporate the Alpro yoghurts into your breakfast routine to show how simple it is to throw together a yummy nutritious meal even when you’re rushing out of the door in the morning – to be fair pouring yoghurt into a bowl and sprinkling delicious toppings over it is just as quick as throwing together a bowl of cereal (and probably tastier!). I was sent out a few different flavours to road test, a long with some really cute pots of toppings – goji berries, chia seeds, chocolate flakes & pecans. Along with some other treats including an ENGRAVED SPOON! Which was nearly too pretty to use… but I did.

You can buy Alpro Tops in four different flavours – I tried out Strawberry & Rhubarb, Vanilla, Plain and Lemon & Lime. The plain one is great for mixing stronger flavours with, the Strawberry & Rhubarb is really yummy too – really fruity without being too sweet. The Vanilla flavour yogurt is DELICIOUS and by far my favorite of the bunch. I’d happily eat it all day, it’s creamy, light and tastes like vanilla without being too over powering.  However I didn’t like the Lemon & Lime at all, it just wasn’t to my taste but if you like your yogurts zingy it might float your boat.

You can pick up a 500ml pot in a lot of supermarkets, I’ve seen them in Tesco for €1.99. If you want to check out what other products Alpro make sure to look at their website for more info!

Have you tried any soy-based alternatives to deserts/yogurts? What did you think?
