Allstate Insurance is not just approving of homosexual marriage. The insurance company is promoting homosexual parenting and adoption in a new 2-minute commercial, “Here’s to Firsts: Family,” about two male homosexuals reflecting on their getting married and adopting a baby girl in 2015.
In the video, with his arm around his “wife,” one man says about the baby, “The second we held her, we knew that she was ours. We’re her dads.”
Writing for American Family Association (AFA), Buddy Smith points out that the Allstate omits informing the viewer that the child will grow up without the nurture that only a mother can provide. Nor does Allstate recognize the emotional trauma and questions the child will endure growing up in a home with two dads.
There is evidence from studies that children raised by homosexual parents tend to struggle emotionally more than their peers, are more susceptible to drug and alcohol abuse, and often suffer severe depression as young adults.
The most compelling study was by Catholic University of America sociologist Donald Paul Sullins of a representative sample of 207,007 children, 512 of whom with same-sex parents. Sullins found that children with same-sex parents had more than twice the emotional problems than children with opposite-sex parents. The problems included misbehavior, worrying, depression, poor relationships with peers and inability to concentrate. Joint biological parents are associated with the lowest rate of child emotional problems by a factor of 4 relative to same-sex parents. All of which means that, in propagandizing homosexual parenting and adoption, Allstate is promoting a lifestyle that is harmful for children.
