Italian-based photographer Niccoló Bonfadini photographs unique snapshots landscapes that are caked in a thick layer of snow and ice. The cloud-like shells of each tree look like frost armor. The setting alone is spectacular and the photographer’s artistic eye and patience makes for a spectacular alien looking landscape. The photographs are taken in Lapland, Finland where the temperatures are -40°C to -15°C. One of his images, titled Sentinels of the Arctic, even wound up catching the eye of NASA as the Astronomy Picture of the Day.
