Alan Kay's Dynabook - The First Tablet Computer

The iPad was not the first tablet computer. In 1968, Alan Kay (born 1940) outlined the Dynabook, calling it a 'children's computer.' The Dynabook defined the conceptual basics for laptop and tablet computers and E-books. The device was never made commercially, but he made a model out of cardboard.
