OK, this will make me some enemies, but I think AJ should be offered as part of a package to get a bat. Couple of reasons.
1. He is a free agent after this season. Because the Yankees are paying the majority of his salary, he's affordable. There's very little chance we pay him the money he'll want next year, so he's gone anyway.
2. He's supposedly the ace of a team that is 17 games over .500, yet his record is 4-7. Granted he has a very good 3.07 ERA and better offense might give him a better record, but it's the same offense for Locke, Liriano and everyone else.
3. Pitching is supposed to be one of our depths. Put J. Gomez back in the starting rotation and bring someone up for the BP such as V. Black. Wandy is supposedly due back within a month too, so I think our SP will be fine.
