A Singapore Airlines A350-900 taxies prior to departure from SFO for a long flight to Asia. The logo on the tail is a bird, inspired by a silver kris, which comes from the keris, a dagger from Southeast Asian culture. The Airbus A350 is a family of long-range, twin-engine wide-body jet airliners developed by European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The A350 is the first Airbus aircraft with both fuselage and wing structures made primarily of carbon-fibre-reinforced polymer. Singapore currently operates 57 of these aircraft in their fleet and is the largest operator of the type.
