Tried out a new shooting spot to get a different perspective on the traffic coming into SFO. This SAS A340 roars overhead as it lines up for runway 28L after a long flight from Copenhagen. In 2001, Scandinavian took delivery of their first Airbus A340-300 and currently operate eight of these aircraft with plans to remove them from service starting in 2018. Production of the type ended in 2011 after 377 were delivered and the market dried up with the transition to twin-engined aircraft for long distance routes.
