From my first trip to the Joint Service Open House at Joint Base Andrews (formerly Andrews AFB). The livery of this Czech-built L-39 Albatros advanced trainer is an homage to the F-14 Tomcats once operated by the VX-9 “Vampires”. The Albatros is the most widely used jet trainer in the world, more than 2,900 L-39s have served with over 30 air forces around the world. A popular jet warbird, more than 250 are registered with the FAA. Nikon D300 w/18-200mm.
