Adventure with Distress Inks and Helmar

This week will be ‘anything distressed’ on the Helmar Blog, so make sure you hop over there and see all the great projects that will be featured this week.  I’m sure there will be some really fun projects by Helmar’s amazing Design Team.

You know I love distressed looks for my cards, tags, and canvases, so this was right up my alley.   For my project, I had fun playing with Ranger Distress Inks,  Ranger Distress Markers, and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and Glimmer Glam to create my 6 x 6 canvas.   The image is stamped and colored on LaBlanche Specialty Stamping Paper and then glued to my 6×6 misted and glammed canvas board using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

My extra something is the fun wings I added to my little girl in the nest.   I stamped these on Studio 490 Clearly for Art film and then colored them with Ranger Alcohol Ink and cut them out by hand.   I love that I can heat and shape the Clearly for Art film.  I also love the fact that if you don’t like how you shape it the first time, you can heat it and shape it again.  The shaped wings really pop off the canvas and adds a nice touch.  I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to adhere the wings to my little girl giving just a little more lift to the wings.  Since the Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots dries clear, you cannot see it.

The quote was made with Authentique Diction words and says ‘there is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open”.  What adventures will you open your eyes to have this week?
