Acceptable Ads Scam

People installed AdBlock Plus to get rid of the annoying display ads on websites they browse. But, now the team behind the browser extension is planning to start showing ads to people who are using AdBlock Plus through its new “Acceptable Ads Platform”.

According to VentureBeat, Acceptable Ads Platform is basically a system where advertising services like Google AdWords can pay AdBlock Plus to show their ads to its users.

When AdBlock Plus first launched in 2006, we were overjoyed by its functionality. It was just too good to be true. But, was this their plan all along?

Say Hello To uBlock Origin

Either way, it’s time for you to find a better alternative. There’s no better alternative than uBlock Origin. And, more importantly, uBlock is completely free and open-source.

I actually started using uBlock Origin a long time ago. It a lot smarter than AdBlock Plus as well. If you don’t mind getting into the technical stuff, the plugin has plenty of features like third-party filters and rules for customizing its functionality and even for getting access to anti-ad-block sites like Forbes.

uBlock Origin is available on both Chrome and Firefox. Go grab it and check it out.

Yes, it may seem weird that I recommend you to use an adblocker while displaying ads on this site. But I also know about how some sites can be so annoying when it comes to ads, like with pop-up ads and pop-under ads.

I always support good sites by adding them to my uBlock Origin white list. If you like reading my articles, consider supporting us by adding freshinfos.com to your white list.
