Welcome to part 2 of my series on Mont-Saint-Michel!
Today, let's get to know the abbey a little.
The Abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel was established by Benedictine monks in the 10th century. It features a pre-Romanesque chapel, Romanesque religious buildings, a Gothic wing (a.k.a. 'the Marvel'), and a Gothic choir.
The abbey has been listed as a French historic monument since 1874 and remains an important pilgrimage center.
