Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage has written a very fun holiday post where she shows us how to spruce up thrifty items to decorate our homes. She transformed a little church figurine she found by adding glitter to it.

Isn’t it adorable? After I saw it I immediately ran out to the Goodwill store and was fortunate to find a church too!

Here are the directions for glittering up a little figurine:

  1. Wash with warm soapy water and allow to dry overnight.
  2. Then brush paint with white craft paint and while still wet sprinkle on a ton of glitter.
  3. Spray with polyurethane afterwards to seal and make sure the glitter sticks.

Here are before and after photos of my glittery church:

Mine was a music box that didn’t sound very good anymore so I took out the mechanism. I thought I could maybe put a flameless candle inside. Also, I wasn’t sure if I should paint the roses at first, but it was too hard to paint around them so I painted them white too. First I spray painted the flowers a couple times because the white craft paint wouldn’t cover the color.

I am just thrilled with my little church. Thank you Shannon for the inspiration to make this fun holiday project!
