A Trip of Unfortunate Events – Part 4

I'm so impressed you're returning for more of The Trip of Unfortunate Events. Part 4 is overall a good part of the trip, especially compared to The Trip of Unfortunate Events Part 3.

A Trip of Unfortunate Events – Part 4

Early Friday morning, April 29, I met up with Eileen Hull and Lorine Mason in Portland, Maine so we could caravan up to Canada together. We were all excited to be going to visit Debra at the Quartermain House B & B together and participate with the first annual Quartermain House Creative Retreat.

We enjoyed the ride up there. We made a few stops along the way.

We needed to make another stop at Marden's before we left Maine. Oh, is that a Hobby Lobby? And a Dollar Store? Wait, I'm hungry now. LOL Did I say we made a few stops?

And this kind of view is one of my favorite things about traveling this gorgeous country. No matter how good of a camera I may have, nothing can really relate what you see in person! Mount Katahdin is majestic indeed and it was the perfect blue sky day to be on a road trip. Car is still running good. I'm laughing with great friends. Music is jamming. All is good.

We finally arrive at the Quartermain House B & B just a little later than planned. They were starting to worry just a bit, but we were there before the reception started. LOL Debra showed us to our gorgeous rooms and made us feel at home immediately.

Eileen, Lorine, Tammy Browning, and I were all teaching different classes at different times in different rooms of the house. Here are some photos from my Powertex Figurine Class. The gals had a great time learning how to use Powertex and create their own figurines, each with individual and distinct personalities. I was thrilled that my friend, Diana Hetherington, came to join us for the weekend too. She is so sweet and fun. This friendship bonding time is another key important part of my travels. Diana is another person who I have met on my travels and now consider a true friend. I met many more women that weekend who I hope to continue to know.

After a few days of teaching, staying up too late, fellowship and laughing way too much, it was finally time to leave. Eileen and I had one more thing to share.

This was probably way more funny to Eileen and I, but we've been laughing about Glinda and Scotty having babies since they slept together in the parking lot at the Bella Crafts Connection retreat about 9 months prior. PS Notice we are still in sweat shirts and long pants.

At this point, we went our separate ways because Eileen and Lorine had to go to the NE corner of Maine and I had to start heading south. Since I had an extra day in my schedule, I decided to take a leisurely drive down the coast. I'm so glad I did. It was a peaceful and calming drive and a chance to say I've now driven the entire coastline of Maine!

Here is a quick recap of that drive.

Hope you enjoyed the good parts too. These great times is what makes all of this worthwhile and thankfully helps me get through all the rest of the crap that happens along the way. The next part will still be a good time, so come on back and join me for more before it starts falling apart again.
