MY REVIEW
4 STARS
This is a fun, action-packed time travel book that kept my interest. Penny has always felt rather invisible, moving through life in the shadow of her twin sister. When Penny investigates an unusual noise she and an odd, but cute, boy are sucked into a vortex. Her sister remained trapped in the basement. Penny and the strange boy begin their adventures, showing up unexpectedly at pivotal moments in history, meeting new friends, while Penny continually worries about her sister. The story is original, entertaining and full of twists. I liked the glimpses into pivotal historic events. There were plenty of nail-biting moments that kept the suspense at a fever pitch. Eventually, the discordant time jumps begin to make sense and an unexpected pattern emerged. Penny discovers that her life is even more complicated than she ever knew. Readers who enjoy time travel stories that are well-constructed with quirky characters facing difficult choices should wholeheartedly enjoy this book!
