I stumbled upon the very lovely Faux Fuchsia blog this weekend and wasso delighted to hear about her effort to help homeless sequins. You can read all about it yourself here.
As a champion of the sequin myself....I decided to do my part...and pull together a fresh new outfit with some beloved sparkle. Our Southern California weather is still shorts weather...so for my trip to Los Angeles for jewelry supplies ...
I pulled out my vince shorts...Alfani sequins...Vince Camuto booties...my vintage cape... (made years ago by my mother)Tamera Beardsley signature pearl and shell necklaceand a bag large enough for all of my shopping/traveling needsrecently happily found at Target.
My favorite way to use sequins...is always with a large dose of juxtaposition modernizing what for me is a wardrobe staple...andmaking it a perfect way to achieve somedown to earth glamour.
Sequins mix perfectly layeredwithmen's wear and jeans.
Sequins get along splendidly with oxford stripes and embroidered jackets.
Sequins + overalls + feather flowers equal a modern variation on a classic jacket.
Sequins work equally well with rough edge linen pants and sandals.
Mixing rich sequins with denim...will always be a favorite of mine...I just love the juxtaposition of high low
Sequins will always work with a classic turban...especially when juxtaposed with overalls once again.
This recent look appears a rather straight forward use of sequins...
but mixing this look...with shorts...gives it a much hipper vibe.
Sequins are the perfect topper for a shorts suit.
Sequins are always the perfect backdrop for accessory collections.
And of course sequins are always the best for a sunset beach stroll.Thank you dear Faux Fuchsia for this weeks sequin inspiration....isn't this blogging such a perfect way to find kindred spirits.
as always my friends
