Whenever summer comes around, I always make sure I keep my daughter busy. The last thing I’d want is for her to spend hours glued to the TV, watching English-dubbed Korean shows or lunchtime variety shows with no intellectual value whatsoever.
This year, she says she wants to join a cooking class at school. You can only imagine how excited I am at the idea of having my daughter become a future Betty Crocker. I didn’t think twice and quickly said yes.
I realize that as a mom, I should support her in this endeavor. I’ve been toying around with the idea of replacing our existing gas stove with an induction burner. As I searched through the various Frigidaire accessories online, I saw one which I think would be perfect for my daughter to use at home.
For obvious reasons, the induction stove is much safer for kids- and, or older people- to use. Instead of an open flame, this type of stove uses electromagnetic energy to heat the pan rather than the cooking surface. Now that’s one less thing for a paranoid mom like me to worry about.
I’m looking forward to my daughter meeting new friends as she learns how to whip up a storm in the kitchen. Who knows, she might teach me something new as well?
