A Gift for “Her”

It’s time now, and even more so because of those blizzards (!!!!) we experienced yesterday in Edinburgh (albeit for one or two hours) for my “A Gift for Her”. The other day I wrote about  “The Book of Everyone” for the boys, and today I will show you my “Plooms”, and no it’s not an exotic, tropical pink creature! It is in fact my brand new “brass, chrome, lacquer” fountain pen in “Miss Pickering Purple”. Don’t you just love it when the postman delivers you a brown paper parcel? There’s always something so romantically “old” about it, and it makes me immediately think of Milly-Molly-Mandy and definitely Enid Blyton books. I love receiving parcels and thus was extremely excited to receive this carefully packaged treat. You also can’t beat the sound of ripping open brown paper, very satisfying. Also, this came just in time for the Christmas season too. There’s certainly lots of excuses to write with actual “ink” at this time of year, what with Christmas cards, gift tags, thank you letters (I’m old-fashioned and still love putting pen to paper).
