Durga Shakti Nagpal has been reinstated. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced that the suspension of the IAS officer was revoked following a meeting with Chief Minister.
"A senior State official attached with the Chief Minister told The Hindu that Ms. Nagpal not only offered spashtikaran (clarification), but also apologised (maafi bhi maangi)."
According to a report including the above piece, the officer was accompanied by her husband Abhishek Singh, an IAS officer of the 2011 batch, currently posted as Joint Magistrate.

The 2010 batch IAS officer was posted as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Nagpal was suspended on July 27 on charges of demolishing a boundary wall of an under-construction mosque at Kadalpur village. A senior leader of the ruling Samajwadi Party, as seen in a video, claimed that he got the officer suspended within 41 minutes. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi took up the cause and wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting his intervention into the matter.
