Hello friends,
My last blog post was late July. My first thought is 'I'm sorry for not posting for so long' followed by 'has it been three months?!
In July, I mentioned being in the midst of planning an island holiday. I thought I would post a few times, but planning a holiday celebration for 26 people was a lot of work!
From mid-August until last week, just about every free minute was spent researching, planning, buying supplies, communicating with family/friends, and the event coordinator/property manager. It felt like I was planning a destination wedding.
- Coordinating 38 flights, four chartered flights, and boat transfers.
- Five nights, five themes: Woodstock Chic, NFL Tailgate, Pirates and Maidens, White Party, and Caribbean Karaoke.
- Music, oh so important. We had a 4-6 hour custom playlist for each day.
Imagine traveling from New Jersey to Nassau (Bahamas), taking a charter to a small island in the Exumas, and a boat ride to the property with paper napkins, streamers, welcome gifts, a disco ball and so much more. A hurricane had passed over the Caribbean weeks before our arrival added extra planning; a backup plan was necessary. What if we weren't able to leave the island? I quickly added a Beach Party theme.
Thank goodness(!) The weather gave us a no boat day, letting us enjoy a Beach Party... filled with games: cups relay, slingshot golf, water balloons, football, and more.
There are too many stories to share in one post, I can tell you that we snorkeled, had lunch with iguana's, searched for starfish, swam with sharks, and fed swimming pigs. We were able to boat every day but one, avoiding storms to snorkel in caves, walk sandbars to natural pools filled with bubbles.
I was up early every day, to plan the day, filling water balloons, coordinating the day and evening festivities. Guests kept mentioning how amazing each day was, asking me if the trip was 'exceeding my expectations.' After hearing this comment a few times... I knew we did it!

New friendships and memories created.
Next up: girls weekend! Seven women are traveling, from seven states, to enjoy a weekend of friendship.
