A Christmas Letter To Myself
It's December 8th today.Deep into our Christmas season.I can't believe it's been over a week since I've been heretime seems to be speeding by this year.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
And it all looks so different this yearmaybe I haven't even been here all the way.
Life is changing so muchand never is it more evident thanunder the glare of Christmas memorieswhere old traditions are  now done new ways.
After over two decades of Christmas's done deeply in child rearing yearsI guess I was too busyto ever think forwardto a timewhere it was back to Jeff and I.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
This first week of the Christmas seasonflew by alreadyin prepping for the engagement partywhich was wonderful ...
A Christmas Letter To Myself
A true celebration of two livescoming togetherinto the beginningsof a new family.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
With all of the promise of new love and new traditions.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
There seems to be a continualletting goin parenting.
A stepping backand watchingwith a silent bated breathof the wondersof childrencoming into their own.Felling  the miracleof the brand new in the same marveling wonderas the first day they were born.
The awe andthe wonderhow new peoplecan come from us.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
I am ever so gratefulto have the timeto processsuch wonder.
To fully embrace the momentcommit it to memoryas another oflife's passages.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
I am gratefulI have grown a flexible heart.
A heart that can welcome children back in fullyfor the moments they are hereknowingthat I will have to once again let them goback to their own lives once again.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
Maybe that's  part of the beauty of the story.
Because even thoughsome days I miss terribly
back when they were little and mineI am fully awarejust like travel is always more glamorouswhen it's a comfortable memory at homesome times so are  wistful memories of Christmas past.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
Yesthere were idealic momentsthat have been committed to memory …
butthere was also a tremendousamount of work and pressureto do it all right by them.
A pressure that has  been removedas they all have their own lives now.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
This yearI want to fully acknowledgeChristmas season is different this year.
To luxuriatein memories of intimate family momentsbut to also take a deep breathand realizeto everything there is a season.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
Realizing it is up to me to celebrateeach and everyone to the very best of my ability.
I will embrace this new season of lifeand holidaysby making new traditionsand observing some old ones as well.
I am gratefulI invested 100 percentin the days mine were littlenow I will once againinvest fully in this new season of lifeand traditions.
My heart of full of love for  the pastandexcitement for the new.
A Christmas Letter To Myself
