Shimla, in the Himachal Pradesh is a magnificent hill station. A large number of nice birds- their warbling and the bunches of flowers add charm to the natural beauty of the place. Its ice skating season ranges from the beginning of December to the end of February. Here the average summer temperature is 18*c and the winter temperature is about 5*to -1*c.
The Kalka – Shimla railway along the rocks run with beautiful sights full of flowers. The ice surrounded rocks are visible from the toy-train. The railway route has 806 bridges and 103 tunnels.

The Mall- Mall is the principal shopping center where a variety of woolen garments and room decorating wooden articles are available. Lot of restaurants, clubs, bank etc along with the famous Gaiety theater is located here.
The Ridge- It is said to be the heart of Shimla from where a beautiful view of the entire city is visible. It is famous for various fairs, functions etc. One of the biggest attractions is the summer festival which is celebrated here in the month of April.
Christ church & Catholic church- The Christ church is located at Shimla ridge. It is the second oldest church in North India. There are many majestic glass arts in the church.
The Catholic church lies near military camp below the ridge. It has its own beauty and charm.
Jakhoo hill- Of the 7 hills of Shimla, Jakhoo is the highest with the height of 2454 metres which can be viewed from anywhere in Shimla . From it the snow covered Himalayan range can be seen. 2 km from Shimla ridge lies the Jakhoo hill where there is the temple of lord Hanuman, having the highest Hanuman statue of the world which is 108 ft in height.
Kufri- One can enjoy the snowfall in Kufri which is 16 km from Shimla ridge. Snow covers the area all round the year. It is a favorite spot for skiing. There is a small zoo and a park too. Fagu valley- The sight of Fagu valley, at a distance of 22 km from Shimla ridge gives a beautiful view of Giri valley surrounded by apple orchards. It can be covered by horse ride.
Green valley- It is 13 km from Shimla ridge, amidst oak and pine trees. It is known for its green locale and yak ride.
