We've put together a list of tips for getting clearer skin and keeping it that way! Here are some solutions that might work better for you!
1. Stop Touching It
You touch your face every day way more than you believe. When we live our lives without staying conscious of what we're doing with our hands, we don't realize how much we actually use them. Have you ever gotten a paper cut on a finger and then soon realized how much you use your hands because every time you touched something it hurt?
You use your hands for pretty much everything and then you place them on your face. If you don't believe that you touch your face often, start keeping track of it. Every time you touch your face, mark a tally.
Touching your face not only places all of the dirt and germs from your fingers onto it, but it also places oil from your fingers onto it as well and spreads acne.
2. Wash Twice a Day for Oily Skin
If you have naturally oily skin, then you'll want to wash your face twice a day: once after waking up and once before bed. unfortunately, there isn't one true-and-tried technique for keeping skin happy. This is because everyone's skin is different.
If you don't have naturally oily skin, then you might want to wash your face only once a day. Either way, after washing your face, be sure to apply a moisturizer. If your skin is super oily, there are moisturizers that work to keep oil to a minimum while still moisturizing.
3. Change Your Lifestyle
Our skin is a reflection of what's happening on the inside of our bodies. If you suffer from consistent acne, then you might want to look into yourself to determine the cause. For example, do you work a job where you're constantly stressed out?
Constant stress can cause breakouts. Does your diet consist of all junk foods? What you put into your body show on the outside.
Consider changing your diet to healthier options and see how it affects your skin over time. Keep your body healthy and your skin will be healthy too.
4. Use Tea Tree Oil and Coconut Oil
Some of the best solutions for so many problems come from nature itself. Tea tree oil and coconut oil both contain antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Both are great for the skin.
The trick is to find a way to use them that works best for you. Tea tree oil is very strong and drying. Coconut oil can clog pores if too much is used, but when you find the right balance, they both can do wonders.
Start off by using only a dab of tea tree oil and diluting it with a tablespoon of coconut oil. Use the solution to wash your face. When done, be sure to rinse all of the remaining oil off of your skin.
Both natural oils will work to fight against acne!
5. Wash Your Pillowcase and Phone
How often do you wash your pillowcase and cell phone? How often do you place your face on either of these items? The answers to these two questions are most likely very different.
Wash your pillowcases and your cell phones! You're always putting your face on them, and they get dirty! If you're not washing on a consistent basis, then you're putting your face on dirt, sweat, bacteria, and more!
None of this is good for your skin.
6. Use Protective Makeup
Clearing your skin won't happen overnight. This is especially true if the solution is a lifestyle change. It's best to keep your skin free of makeup, but we understand that sometimes it's a necessity.
If you do need to wear makeup, be sure to choose the good stuff. Some of the best concealers to handle any situation are the ones that contain SPF and antioxidants.
If you're going to put something on your skin, be sure it's something that'll do good for it. Otherwise, your makeup will only make your skin worse. Choose the right type of makeup, and you'll protect your skin while protecting your confidentiality.
