Taking care of your oral health is not something you can escape from. It is something that you must devote your time to if you do not want any problems in the future. Our oral health impacts our life in many ways which we may not even be aware of. But it is important to look for our health and if that means paying special attention to the oral health, then we must. When we say take care of oral health, we are not suggesting you get dental treatments without its need but we are suggesting you follow some home tips that can do the same.

Clove Essential Oil

Clove is deemed to be good for the oral health. Many times when the person has severe pain in the tooth, they are suggested to keep the clove in between the tooth as it soothes the nerves and eases the pain. Clove has medicinal qualities and curing the toothache is one of the medical benefits it offers.

Clove essential oil has powerful antibacterial properties and that can prevent the growth of oral bacteria and also help in washing away the existing dangers in the mouth.

Peppermint Essential Oil

You will often find majority of toothpaste and mouthwash products that have been flavored with peppermint. It is because its fresh and has a clean taste. But the taste is not all it has to offer.

Peppermint essential oil have real therapeutic qualities. If it is mixed with lavender, peppermint is one of the most versatile essential oils that can treat a lot of things. It is basically the menthol that is present in the peppermint has powerful antimicrobial properties which are effective to fight against the bacteria that breed in the mouth.

Spearmint Essential Oil

Spearmint essential oil has similar properties as the peppermint oil and can again be used to disinfect the mouth. The major difference between the two is that spearmint is a lot sweeter and hence easily can be applied. They have the anti bacterial qualities and are goof for your oral health.

Cinnamon Essential Oil

Cinnamon, just like clove is really good for the mouth. It is also strong flavored and can be used as an alternative to the menthol based oils. It has similar benefits on the teeth and your gums as menthol and its application can be soothing for the gums and the teeth. The best part about applying cinnamon is that is can prevent gum disease or gingivitis because of its strong antibacterial properties.

Myrrh Essential Oil

Myrrh oil has excellent antiseptic and soothing qualities and is best way to sooth the nerves in case of sudden pain in the tooth or the gums. It is also a good way to treat the ulcers in the mouth which are nothing but a result of bacteria breeding in there. Myrrh oil helps in stimulating the blood flow which can strengthen the gums.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender is a very gentle oil and the most commonly used essential oil. It has the ability to effectively dull any pain. Just adding drop of lavender essential oil rubbing it gently into the painful gums can help ease the pain. It is so relaxing and can also help to get good sleep at night.
