beng 5 REASONS YOU SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT LIST STINGS

Starting next week, we’ll be introducing a brand-spanking-new column dedicated to listing the very best, worst and most fun things in music (and beyond!). Each week we’ll publish a couple lists on topics that are literally all over the music-board, except cat pictures, which we will graciously leave to BuzzFeed (don’t mark our words here though). In honor of our newest addition, we did what any sane person would do and made a list of reasons you should be excited.

1. Lists are fun to read

It’s a true fact, everyone likes to read lists, everyone. Maybe it’s because they are easy to browse through at work, maybe it’s cause they often times come with pictures and videos so you can waste more time reading them. They’re like the reality TV of writing — fun for everyone and if done right, really entertaining to.

2. It’s hilarious

Not to toot our own horn or anything, but there are some pretty funny people working on this. In addition to The Wild Honey Pie writers that you know, we’re bringing on some people that specialize in being funny and loving music. So you can giggle to yourself while listening to the hottest new jamz.

3. I can talk about The Bangles

Not to spoil anything, but “Hazy Shade of Winter” will be prominently featured on most lists. Same with other songs that will make you laugh, cry and think, “damn, that was awesome.”

4. Playlists for every time in your life

Such things as “music to pet your cat to” and “best songs to cook pork belly to” and “best songs to contemplate horrible things you could do to your ex to.” You know, the usuals.

5. We’ll feature great songs

Sure, we want this space to be light hearted, but that doesn’t mean that it will be all about The Bangles (ed. note: Hannah maybe cried a little when we told her that). We will be featuring all sorts of things we love, hate and want to talk about. We expect you to get all angry at us for our lists, to submit your own in the comments and to (hopefully) discover some great new music too.
