1 .Plain and simple but it’s just fun!
Learning a language is always fun and who wouldn’t want to learn our beautiful romantic language? Having the opportunity to learn a language in its mother country and applying/being forced to speak and practice the language is by far the best method in learning a language. Getting to learn about the culture of Argentina is another aspect on why learning spanish is so much fun. You get the opportunity to learn about the history of Argentina and most importantly the food of course, and might I add that means tasting our mate, wines and of course chocotorta-by far the best cake in Argentina! Classes are fun, they are full of laughs and buena onda (good vibes). Depending on your level, you get to watch movies in class and also at times visit a museum with your class. Not to mention the school offers a lot of activities you can participate in. Waking up bright and early has never been better, with the diversity of the class and spanish language, you will love every minute of it.
2.Why not learn one of the world’s most common spoken languages
Did you know that Spanish is the 3rd most widely spoken language in the world? The advantages of learning spanish are endless, the most significant being that you can communicate with almost 500 million people worldwide, now that is a lot of friend making right there! This adds to my third point, this is great for employment opportunities. Regardless of what level you complete, knowing a little spanish will get you a long way. Like many students here, they go onto travel, this goes hand in hand and is highly recommended by our students. At times we may feel silly or embarrassed by our spanish but this is all part of the learning experience. But on the other hand, the locals love when people attempt to speak their language, it’s kind of a sign of respect. When people speak your language that obviously is not their mother tongue, the main factor that is important to consider is that they are trying, points always go for trying! And Argentinians are so friendly and welcoming, they will assist you on the way! Once you get a grip on the language and your feeling more confident, you will start to develop an appreciation for the language. You can apply your spanish language skills not only in South America or Spain but also the USA (having a very large language community) and many other countries.
3. Creates more employment opportunities
No doubt that knowing another language definitely opens up more doors for your future. Regardless what career you have chosen, knowing another language is always a bonus! At a pace where Spanish language is rising rapidly, employers are desperately looking for future employees who speak spanish. In particular there is such a huge demand in the U.S for spanish speakers, for example in nursing, media, teachers and other sectors. Outside the U.S.booming Latin economies are in desperate need for spanish speaking employees as many companies are expanding, for example PepsiCo announcing a $5 billion investment in Mexico. You never know what opportunity you may be faced with in the near future, you will definitely thank your spanish skills!
4. Will open up a world of travel destinations
One of the biggest advantages are that you can apply your spanish skills when travelling, you can show off your soon to be or already amazing spanish skills in 20 official speaking countries. Spanish being the official language in the following countries, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. Now that’s a great excuse to go travelling-to of course to practice your spanish that is! The great thing about learning spanish in Argentina is that all of these countries listed are close, you can travel to Colombia and within the same day be soaking up the sun in San Andrés, travel to Uruguay and 3 hours later you’re in Colonia and in no time you will be in Chile! It is perfectly possible to get by, by speaking no spanish in Colombia or other south american countries but having the ability to communicate with colombians/south americans, converse and share stories in spanish will definitely enrich your travel experiences and add a new dimension to your travel adventures.
5. Assist with learning other languages
Another bonus of learning spanish is that it will assist you with other languages. In particular Italian and Portuguese, both languages sharing many similar words. Spanish is also similar to French and it will even assist you with learning Russian and German, since they too have Indo-European roots and have some characteristics that are present in Spanish. Learning spanish may turn into a language addiction, where you just want to learn more and more languages! Spanish is a great head start, once you know the language it will be much more easier to learn other languages. If you take note, many people who speak spanish usually speak a language that is similar. For example at Expanish there are many Brazilians who learn spanish. It is amazing how the languages are similar and share similar grammatical language. Regardless if you don’t speak italian or portuguese but speak spanish you will still be able to understand and interpret a little bit or alot (depending on yourself)of these languages.
