5 Quick Questions with The Dirty Nil [’77 Montreal 2019 Preview]

We're thrilled to have Kyle from The Dirty Nil answering 5 Quick Questions in our '77 Montreal preview series.

We first saw the band live five years ago at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. They were playing at Tattoo Rock Parlour, and they were opening for The Reason. That feels like a million years ago.

Fast forward to today, The Dirty Nil is the hottest ticket happening. When we asked bands during CMW who was on their must-see lists, The Dirty Nil came up more than any other band. And, in fact, our first 5 Quick Questions - '77 Montreal preview post from The Lookout, also chose The Dirty Nil as a band you should be watching.

We've seen Luke Bentham, Kyle Fisher and Ross Miller on small stages and big stages, and we can assure you, you will not be disappointed. They're talented, energetic and loud.

Q1) If you're on a road trip, what's the one album you can listen to on repeat?

Kyle ) Right now its Brutalism by Idles

Q2) Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Kyle ) I've gotten into the habit lately of picking a few pump up tunes and warming up along to them. Luke kisses both Ross and I on the forehead and Ross head butts my gut. Then we walk on stage.

Q3) What can fans expect from a live performance?

Kyle ) We be fuckin' loud, smiling and taking no prisoners. Jump around with us.

Q4) Is there a band or artist you think people should be paying more attention to?

Kyle ) Drew Thompson Foundation

Q5) Do you have a favourite thing about '77 Montreal?

Kyle ) This is our first time attending but I'll be stoked to catch up with The Menzingers. OFF! and Cromags, they're playing too and that's fucking great.
