KNIFEY is back with their latest video release, Savage. In the past, we've included KNIFEY in four New Music Spotlights, and we felt it was time that we got to know them better.
Savage is from their upcoming sophomore album, Sleepwalker.
"With our new song, Savage," we feel that we have really come into our own as a band. It was inspired by the smash 1991 blockbuster, Point Break, starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze.
We wanted this track to live up to its near-mythical subject matter and we're quite happy with the outcome.
Sonically, we made a clear nod to the Point Break's surf themes using reverb and tremolo on the lead guitar lines. Coupled with big rock choruses, Savage " invites a summer mood."
It's sultry and cool to watch. The lighting is key in setting the mood, and the opening bassline is badass and memorable. I loved it immediately, and I knew we had to share it with you. So, we thought it this was the perfect opportunity to do a round of 5 Quick Questions with KNIFEY.
