While we were hanging out at OMDC's Ontario JUNO Award Nominee Reception in Toronto last week, we had the chance to catch up with Diana Panton for 5 quick questions.
Many thanks to the boys for taking the time to answer the questions in a crowded room, and congratulations to The Fretless on her 2017 Juno Award nomination for Children's Album of the Year for I Believe In Little Things.
Q1: Which Canadian artist would you most like to work with, that you haven't had a chance to yet in your career?
Diana: Ron Sexsmith
What a great answer. Sexsmith a Canadian icon, and we're sure it would be awesome for anyone to work with him. Plus, he loves coffee! #xocoffee
Q2: Which Canadian album would you choose to put on during a long road trip... on repeat.
Diana: Harrison Kennedy's This Is From Here
If you're looking for a Blues album to listen to, why not reach for a Canadian hit, and 2016 Juno winner for Blues Album of the Year.
Q3: What was the first concert you went to?
Diana: R.E.M.
What a great answer... to be honest, we're jealous of the memory that would come from that being your first concert experience!
Q4: What is your favourite thing about Ottawa?
Diana: The bilingualism
Ottawa is a great city, and the French/English component is just one of the reasons. Excellent choice by Diana.
Q5: What Canadian artist do you think people should be paying more attention to?
Diana: Reg Schwager
Reg has played with Diana, and also has his own solo jazz career. We'll be checking him out.
