Are there any upcoming long weekend holidays in your schedule? Are you feeling to hit the roads for some adventure in your life? If your answer is yes, congratulations, your thoughts match with us! We explored not one but several routes and destinations by far that took us away from the bustling capital environment for a while.
Surely, there is no better supporting solution to weekends than to load our bags in the car and begin a getaway. A myriad of stretches of road from Delhi is waiting for you for some exciting and fun holidays. Here is the list of my top 4 favorite spots.
- Neemrana Fort Palace, Jaipur
From a long time, my wife and I were trying to plan a short trip to relieve us from our hectic lives. So, we mutually agreed on a staycation at Neemrana Fort Palace. When we started our 2.5 hours of drive on NH-8, everything was breathtaking, and within a moment we could say this road trip is our perfect decision. Why?
We planned this trip during monsoons, so, we witnessed a romantic aura all around the journey. All thanks to the lush vegetation on the rocky hills lining the highway.
The fort is a palace built in the 15th century and turned into a heritage hotel – an architectural wonder. Here we chilled and spent some intimate moments together for a day. If you are looking forward to something same, believe me, this one is an ideal escape for couples due to its romantic atmosphere.
There a plethora of attractions within the premises to make your tour worthwhile such as spa, vintage car ride, and swimming pool. Also, you can indulge in the Flying Fox zip-line activity to have some thrill!

- Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh
It takes roughly 5.5 to 6 hours to reach Kasauli from Delhi. The road is in great condition with not many potholes. So, the drive along the trail was smooth and quick to navigate for us. We started our journey early morning and even had breakfast at the famous Dhabas nestled in Murthal. Thus, basically, it allowed us to enjoy two road trips at a go. After all, we all know, Murthal is a popular weekend getaway for many Delhiites.
We planned this road trip in the summer season. So, the climate was pleasant, and as the mountains of Himachal begin emerging after the crossing of Chandigarh, they set a magnificent landscape.
In Kasauli, we appreciated attractions and sights like Sunset Point, Christ Church, Kasauli Baptist Church, and much more. However, it’s the mesmerizing panorama of the region that forever etched in our heart and mind.

Mcleod Ganjno doubt is in a bucket list of many travelers. So, was it for me. I planned it with my buddies. We covered the distance from Delhi to Dharamshala in 8 hrs and 36 minutes. The road trip was really exclusive, and serenity all around soothed our souls. All the picturesque spots here filled my memories with enticing pictures.

- Lansdowne, Uttarakhand
Frustrated from our mundane days at the office, we were planning some unique trip. So, we took advantage of our upcoming long weekend to a not much-talked-about destination, Lansdowne. Since it’s not so famous amongst tourists, this hill station is not crowded. Thus, we found moments of utter tranquility – the reason it was on our bucket list.
It is situated at an elevation of 1700 m, surrounded by thick oak and pine forests. No doubt this location has preserved its unharmed scenic charm. Also, Lansdowne will bestow you with its mild weather.
Hence, it’s a beautiful place for leisure, an escape from the scorching summer heat of the city, and also a heaven for bird watchers. We really don’t regret a road trip to this picturesque hill station in Uttarakhand.
