30 Days of Blogging (D.I.Y. & Paper Tips) Day Six: Adhesives (Part 2 of 2)
Good Morning! Day Six, part 2 of 2 as promised... Wrapping up the adhesives installment.

4. Double Sided Tape
Double-sided tape is ideal for assembly vs. taking pieces of regular, one-sided scotch tape and folding it in a circle and sticking items together. The double-sided tape lends itself to a neater, cleaner attachment.
NOTE: Any professional stationer should invest in a 2 or 3 roll tape dispenser... I have a 3-roll. A slot for double-sided tape (for some assembly), one for regular scotch tape (helps with packaging) and one for drafting or light masking tape (typically for positioning paper that I need to letter). You can tailor your own slots based on how you work. Its just nice to have a heavy, stationary dispenser where you can just rip off what you need and keep moving.

Pros: Double-sided tape is flat and leaves a less bulkier connection between stocks
Recommended for: Small areas of light card stock only; questionable for text or heavyweight stock
Cons: Cannot cover large areas. If using under text weight card stock, wrinkles and imperfections in the tape may show through

5. Glue Dots Glue dots/lines come in handy and are a MUST have for projects big and small. They come in different sizes and shapes (circles and lines) and are sold as either permanent or removable. I like to refer to them as "goo dots" because of their consistency!

Pros: Small and can be used to bond weird areas with no view to the consumer as to how it was done
Recommended for: Affixing ribbon bows and/or metal/crystal/wooden embellishments
Cons: Must be covered by mass/object of some kind... Cannot be used effectively under flat stock areas

6. Glue Sticks Another must have item... I collect these. Definitely be brand-loyal here. I am only recommending Scotch wrinkle-free brand. These can be used in the same way double-sided tape can. It will cut your time in half.

30 Days of Blogging (D.I.Y. & Paper Tips) Day Six: Adhesives (Part 2 of 2)

Pros: Easy to use, wrinkle-free meaning that if you place text weight stock over it, you can't see any imperfections/wrinkles caused by the glue underneath it
Recommended for: Light paper projects only. Too weak for cover weight stock or embellishments
Cons: Can be messy and there is not much glue on each of these sticks... It will be gone before you know it, which is why I like to stock up!
