30 Days of Blogging (D.I.Y. and Paper Tips) Day Twenty Six: Ombre 101
Happy Weekend! Day 26! I can't believe I'm almost at the end of this process. Its forced me to be more creative (more often) and I hope you guys have been impacted as well.
Today I want to talk about the Ombre trend. It features the slow gradation of a color going from dark to light or vice versa. It was huge back in 2011 and has not gone away. There are cakes, linens, etc. where you can see this style being utilized. Its interesting to me that it is called "ombre" because in my background as a print producer, this color fading from dark to light is typically referred to as a "vignette" (vin•yet).
Anywho, I thought it would be cool to show some examples of how lovely your paper can be using this style.
1. Ombre escort card display

This escort card display on a large mirror from ISSE Palm Beach is stunning... There is something about watching the gradation of color slowly changing that makes something more interesting

2. Ombre Paper

I had no problem locating this in varying sizes!

3. Ombre Garland
This is my first time actually executing a mini garland strand. I'm sure that a sewing machine will give you stitching that is hardly noticeable, but I hated my clumsy threading so I affixed fresh circles on top of the ones that are sewn. Someone out there let me know an easier way to do this!

Great for the right kind of wedding, showers, etc.

4. Ombre flat cards with ribbon
Super cute idea... Attach cards (make sure you do them in alpha according the fade or it won't work!). These can also lie flat on your escort card table...

In a perfect world, these would have the guests table designation and you should make sure they can be removed pretty easily so the display is not ruined by someone yanking or snatching their card down.

That's it for today... We'll be back tomorrow! Have good weekends. --ct
