30 Days of Blogging (D.I.Y. and Paper Tips) Day Thirteen: The Best Craft Suppliers
Welcome to Day 13! Today, in no particular order, wanted to share some of MY favorite suppliers. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but these are my go to's... If you have a reseller id you can get better deals at wholesale companies not listed here, but you can also inquire within to most of these companies and ask how you can submit your number to get those deals. Some are friendlier than others, just make sure to call and ask.
Brick and Mortar (chains):
  • Dick Blick's - Student friendly; recently acquired a portion of Utrecht stores, wide variety
  • Hobby Lobby - Great for crafters; furniture also sold and several items that are "project-ready" for purchase
  • Michael's - Basic supplies... Not really ideal if volume has to be purchased, but they've recently bolstered their painting and canvas supplies. Great for frames.

Online (Paper and Envelopes):
  • Utrecht - Similar to Dick Blick's. Very student friendly and you can find pretty much anything you need.
  • Save on Crafts - Based in California, they've got a great selection on craft supplies at wonderful prices.
  • Cut Card Stock - Indiana based (this is a one day point ship for you Chicago crafters) and just a nice, quick stop if you need paper or envelopes. Decent pricing.
  • Paper Papers - Also based in Indiana so you can get your items quickly. Gigantic warehouse full of paper and envelopes. You can secure full sized sheets here. Great if you are looking for a variety of sizes. They will also let you come and pick up your order.
  • Paper Source - Popular retailer. Definitely not recommended for volume purchases. Some unique items here, but more for your own personal purchases (i.e. decor for your office, making personal cards, custom stamps).
  • PaperWorks - Based on the east coast, Paperworks usually stocks the paper I can't find anywhere else. They are also great about recycling and offer sample packs of their scraps for cheap. They also sell swatch books.
  • Paper Mill Store - Might have the widest variety of paper online, at least in my experience. If you are looking for a colored stock that you can't find anywhere else, you MUST visit the Paper Mill Store. Lots of paper lines that you may have never heard of and they also sell swatch books.
  • Envelope Mall - Basic, 8.5" x 11" stock and a variety of sizes of envelopes. Quick and cheap. Chicago based... No pickup options but one day ship point...
  • Cards and Pockets - One of the first online stores I used to order from. They have grown SO MUCH and I can't recommend them enough. They are one of the first places that revealed the names of the actual paper lines as they compared to their private label names/colors. Very helpful. I also had the pleasure of bumping into them at NSS. East coast based.
  • Accucut Craft - Great investment for you guys to make. I can't recommend them enough. Dies, custom dies, etc. and they always have deals every week. I visit here often.

Ribbon:
  • Paper Mart - Based in California, this place has it all. Huge varieties of ribbon, boxes, packaging, etc. You can spend a long time on their site, love them. Great pricing and they ship really quickly.

Embellishments:
  • Totally Dazzled - Etsy store based in Canada that won't let you down. Period. They ship your order lightning quick too...

Let me know if there are some other places I need to know about!
We'll be back tomorrow, enjoy your Sunday!
