Blogger.com is my first choice for making a free-blog and it’s my personal favorite. Not only it gets powered by Google, but it also gives you total freedom to customize your blog, monetize, and even allows you to add a custom domain without charge. Our other site, Review Dude is also hosted at Blogger, and at first sight, you can’t even tell the difference. Go with blogger if you want a fully personalized, customized blog with the ability to earn few bucks.
Tumblr
Tumblr is not as popular as it used to be but, it’s a great place to start a free blog. It’s not as great as Blogger but, by creating a blog there you get the chance to reach a community of over 100 million users. You can also set a custom domain and customize the theme for free. Tumbler is perfect for a personal blog and to build a small community.
WordPress.com
Last but not least, WordPress.com is also popular for providing free blogs. It gives you 3GB of free space and allows you to connect with other bloggers in the community. There are hundreds of free themes to choose from. Although, you can’t do any customization to the theme, or your blog without paying. You’ll even have to pay to set a custom domain or monetize your blog. The cost is also a bit higher than usual. WordPress.com is good for hosting a non-profit, personal blog with a small following.
