2020 CBC Music Festival Makes First Lineup Announcement

CBC Music Festival will return to Echo Beach on May 30 with headliners Metric leading the way.

The one-day music festival will include the q stage, CBC Music Tent Stage, and the CBC Kids Zone to go along with the main stage. It's a setup that allows for multiple acts to be featured throughout the day, and for music fans at the beach to find something they love.

So far, 11 acts have been announced, including Metric, Half Moon Run, Lights, Jeremy Dutcher, and 2020 CBC Searchlight winner (announced Thursday morning), Shawnee. The festival also promises to add more acts, with announcements to come between now and May 30.

One of our favourite things about CBC Music Festival (aside from the fact that live music is wonderful) is the spotlight it shines on Canadian talent. Already in the lineup, we have Juno Awards, Polaris Prize, Western Canada Music Awards, Astral Media Radio Awards, Much Music Video Awards, the CBC Searchlight Contest and more represented. We have multiple genres and fanbases included. It's a lineup (so far) that already tells us that this is about getting talented artists on stage to do what they do best, not simply a formula that tries to tick boxes.

We like that.

Tickets for 2020's CBC Music Festival are on pre-sale now (Thursday, March 5, 2020) with code: CBC2020. .

And tickets go on full public sale starting Friday, March 6, 2020, at 10 AM. General Admission passes will be listed for $39.50 plus fees + taxes ($57.75 total) with children 12 and under free to enter with an adult - maximum two children per adult. Doors for CBC Music Festival are scheduled to open at 1:30 PM, music is set to start at 2:00 PM, and the entire shebang is booked as rain or shine!

AND, if you can't get to the festival, the fest will be live streamed on CBC Gem, cbcmusic.ca, and CBC Music's Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts. It's a very cool thing that CBC does, and gives fans across Canada a chance to enjoy the music from RBC Echo Beach in Toronto.
