Finance State Minister Shehan Semasinghe said that the work on more than 200 development projects that were started with foreign aid and stopped midway will be started in the first quarter of next year.
The Minister of State for Finance said that it would be possible to adopt the 2024 budget reflecting the political stability of Parliament, and that the necessary groundwork for a state income and economic development plan has been prepared in the 2024 budget.
State Minister Semasinghe said this while joining a press conference that was held at the Presidential Media Centre yesterday (14) on the theme “One path for all for a stable country”.
He pointed out that the country’s economy is not on a level where solutions can be found using popular political rhetoric and stated that there is no other option other than working with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
