Good afternoon one and all!
Here in the UK, tinned fish seems rather unappreciated.
Aside from tinned tuna which is usually served with lashings of mayo mixed in, tinned fish seems to be associated more with the kind of food only the older generations eat.
It is a shame because many other tinned fish are really delicious and are actually cheaper than their tuna counterparts!
So today, in honor of tasty tinned fish I made this I love Mackerel bento!
I used tinned mackerel fillets in a spicy tomato sauce to create a cute heart coloured and shaped center with Japanese mushroom fried rice around the outside.
As for the salad, I packed in some crunchy sugar snap peas, some peppery radishes, some celery, tomato and as the finishing touch some cute halved tomatoes with small stem free mushrooms on top, made into mini skewers with some love picks!
Good for your brain, body and taste buds!
