13 Ways To Keep Your Home Warm This Winter

By John Lawless @BestHeatingUK

Winter is on its way and we’re just starting to see the temperature dropping below 0°C. Getting out of bed in the morning is becoming harder and the heating bill is racking up.

While there’s not too much you can do about the cold outside, there’s still plenty you can do about the cold inside – and we’re not talking about throwing on an extra layer.

According to research, UK households waste more than £2.2 billion a year needlessly heating their homes. On average, the annual heating bill across the UK in 2018 rode by £16 when compared to 2017 and now sits at £646 per year.

According to a poll conducted by Direct Line Home Insurance, Brits tend to leave their central heating on unnecessarily for six and a half hours per week on average. Further to this, around 18% of those polled admitted wasting energy for 10 hours or more per week.

It’s been found that householders heat their properties for almost 59 hours per week on average, with the heating on unnecessarily for almost 11% of the time. Turning off the heating during these unnecessary times could save you an average of £71 per year, and with these “13 Ways to Keep Your Home Warm This Winter” from Conservatory Blinds 4 Less you could save even more.
