11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

So, the winter storm they predicted was definitely a bust, but the deep freeze predicted for today was not. Today is single digits with a real feel that's in the negatives. I don't know about you, but I am not going anywhere. If you don't want to be productive today, here are some shows to binge (if you haven't already),

For a fashion fix: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A 1950s Jewish housewife on the Upper West Side with a seemingly perfect life only to have it upended by her husband's infidelity. It was a blessing in disguise though because it leads her to her true talent - stand up comedy.

Why I watch: It's hilarious and the fashion is to DIE for. The style only gets better as the seasons progress (as does the comedy).

Seasons: 2

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

For a creepy fix: You

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A bookstore manager becomes fixated on one of his customers. After he has her, how far will he go for "love"?

Why I watch: While some parts are definitely predictable, it kind of sheds a light on how creepy we all are when it comes to our social media habits. Not full blown stalking creepy, but even still.

Seasons: 1

Where to watch: Netflix

For an action fix: Jack Ryan

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A CIA analyst is pulled from his desk job and into the field after discovering some suspicious bank transfers.

Why I watch: My boyfriend made me, tbh. That being said, I continued watching because the story unfolds in a very unpredictable way.

Seasons: 1

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

For an emotional fix: This Is Us

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: It's about a family and how their lives intertwine with one another. I can't say anything else or I will ruin it for you if you haven't seen it.

Why I watch: It's relatable. It's not because you necessarily experienced the exact same thing, but it somehow strikes a cord.

Seasons: 3 ( third season in progress)

Where to watch: Hulu, NBC

For a suspenseful fix: Killing Eve

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A desk bound MI5 officer begins tracking an assassin with the two women becoming obsessed with one another over time.

Why I Watch: What draws me in is the intelligence of both characters. You're not necessarily rooting for the assassin, but you're not rooting against her either. The cat and mouse game is fun to watch

Seasons: 1

Where to watch: Hulu

For a cartel fix: Narcos (Mexico)

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: The series shows the birth of the Mexican drug war in the 1980s and the rise of the Guadalajara cartel.

Why I watch: I find true crime shows to be fascinating in general and this one does not disappoint. It is also interesting to see how little power the DEA had in the situation and the corruption in Mexican law enforcement.

Seasons: 1

Where to watch: Netflix

For a royal fix: The Crown

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: The Crown follows Queen Elizabeth II ascension to the throne to present day. Each season covers about 8 years.

Why I watch: Obviously there is creative license taken in this show, but I personally never knew the adversity the queen faced from family to marriage to her public perception.

Seasons: 2

Where to watch: Netflix

For a romantic fix: Love

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A very millenial romantic comedy that follows Mickey and Gus from both a male and female perspective.

Why I watch: It's messy and relatable. If you're a millenial you will be able to connect with each of the characters.

Seasons: 3

Where to watch: Netflix

For a cleaning fix: Tidying Up with Marie Kondo

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: Organization expert, Marie Kondo, goes into people's home that have hit a wall in regards to organization. Through the Kondo Method she helps them pinpoint the items that spark joy in their lives

Why I watch: I needed some tips on how to get organized in my apartment. It lived up to the hype.

Seasons: 1

Where to watch: Netflix

For the throne fix: Game of Thrones

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A watered down summary is that it is a fight for the iron throne across the seven kingdoms. So much more to it, but a(nother) book would need to be written to tell you.

Why I watch: Another show my boyfriend sucked me into. It's just so good! Every character has a strong storyline, Even when you hate them you want to see what happens next. Currently re-watching the series in preparation for the new season in April. Encourage you to do the same (or start it if your haven't already).

Seasons: 7

Where to watch: HBO

For a classic fix: Friends

11 Shows to Binge on a Cold, Rainy, or Snowy Day

Premise: A group of six 20-somethings navigate friendship, love, parenthood, and career.

Why I watch: As a late 20-something I appreciate it now more than ever. While some off-color jokes did not stand the test of time, that struggle to figure life out when you're already supposed to be an "adult" still does.

Seasons: 10

Where to watch: Netflix
