Story: Without Name starts as Eric (McKenna) leaves his family behind for his latest surveying job. A job that will take him to an ancient forest, living out a remote cottage with student Olivia (Algar).
The empty forest will leave a haunting feeling for Eric, whenever he is alone. When the equipment starts getting moved, Eric believes somebody is messing around with him. Sending him down a descent in madness with the supernatural environment.
Thoughts on Without Name
Without Name is a mystery horror, using the empty open space within an Ancient Forest for location. Becoming a character within the film. Every time we are in the forest, that is an air of unease to everything going on. We are left with plenty of mystery about what is going on, never giving away any of the obvious answers.
Using a stressed-out professional spiralling out of control, is a big plus point. If it was just the student character, it wouldn’t show how much they could have been through before. Alan McKenna’s performance is great, showing his character’s slow descent.
In the end the movie will feel like it is left with plenty more to say. Making us want to see more of the world and the consequences from the forest. It leaves you feeling disturbed by the ending, one that is scarier than could be imagined.
Final Thoughts – Without Name is a disturbing horror, leaving you shocked by the conclusion.
