Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who is known to play diverse characters, is all set to play the title role in ‘Bobby Jasoos’.
The film ‘Bobby Jasoos’ is produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha under the banner Born Free Entertainment. It is written by Sanyuktha Chawla and directed by Samar Shaikh.
The 35 year old Vidya said: “The idea of playing a female detective was irresistible. Also, the movie title intrigued me. I have known Dia and Sahil for years now. They are the kind of producers everyone wants to work with. But Sanyuktha Chawla’s script and director Samar Shaikh kept me hooked and I am looking forward to working with them.”
When Dia Mirza was asked why she chooses Vidya for the role, she said: “Vidya was an obvious choice. She is a powerhouse performer who has not been seen in such a space. Her character is curious, intelligent, inquisitive and out-of-the-box thinker and it syncs with Vidya’s personality.”
Sahil Sangha said: “Vidya’s presence will definitely make the film even more interesting for the audience.”
The shooting for ‘Bobby Jasoos’ will start from mid-November and will hit theatres in summer 2014.
