Victoria’s Secret Annual Fashion Show Is In Danger Of Being A Mess
In America, we have a few utterly pointless annual traditions that people like to make a fuss over but that nobody actually cares about. We have the Super Bowl, we have Christmas and we have the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Christmas and the Super Bowl are still on as far as I know. However, there is a ray of light… the VS Fashion show is in danger of being a clusterfuck this year!
According to Page Six, the show, is in more danger than Demi Moore in Ghost!
Page Six has learned that the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show — which is due to be held in Shanghai in just two weeks and will feature models including Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss, among others — is turning into an international media crisis.
Apparently, the Chinese government is being a real stick in the mud about it. Fashion bloggers are cancelling because they can’t get visas, TV producers are mad because they aren’t being allowed to film places outside of the venue (because lord knows we need a lot of racist B-roll of Victoria’s Ancient Chinese Secret) and publicists are pissed because the bureaucrats want final approval of their press releases. If you thought mounting the VSFS was a catwalk in the park, think again!
We’re told that producers charged with coordinating the coverage for various outlets are “on the verge of nervous breakdowns.”
In addition to the red tape faced by the show’s producers, Harper’s Bazaar Australia reports that some of the “talent” are also being affected by the bureaucracy. A number of Russian and Ukrainian models have been denied visas and are being barred from participating. This is making other models sad! Also, a Twitter account claims that bell of the ball Gigi Hadid is in trouble for posting a wrong video of her making fun of Buddha.

It’s almost as if the Chinese government aren’t drooling over themselves at the thought of a flock of greased up, winged chicken heads in cheap lingerie swooping in to roost in their rafters. They didn’t like the sticky fingered basketball players we sent them so why should they be any more welcoming to the crew who made Kendall Jenner think she could be a model.
Sadly it looks like the VSFS will forge ahead despite the difficulties (albeit sans Kendall). It’s a tacky American tradition that inexplicably endures. But like the Super Bowl and Christmas, it’s nagging existence can be avoided if you take a few small precautions: Stay off the internet, don’t watch TV and steer clear of the mall. It’s that simple!
