This U.S. Coast Guard Dolphin descends to show center during the 2023 San Francisco Fleet Week airshow. This aircraft is one of six Dolphins stationed at CG Air Station San Francisco. The Dolphin was selected by the United States Coast Guard in 1979 as their new short range recovery air-sea rescue helicopter. 6550 was delivered to Air Station San Francisco after having undergone Service Life Extension work and avionics upgrades, converting this Dolphin to the “Echo” configuration and extending the service life by 10,000 flight hours.
