Story: Typist Artist Pirate King starts when mentally ill Audrey Amiss (Dolan) gets her fortnightly visit from Sandra (Macdonald). However, Audrey’s latest episode sees her believing she is going to die soon. She wants to get to a gallery to show off her work before it is too late. Sandra is reluctantly recruited to help on the road trip across England.

However, the journey sees the pair facing realities they never imagined. It puts their friendship to the test as they search for the best in their own lives to overcome their own problems in life.

Typist Artist Pirate King is a drama following two friends who set out on a road trip across England. The journey is filled with troubles and the pair both face the reality of their lives. However, it offers them a chance to learn the most from the previous time in their lives.

This is a story about understanding mental illness and how to adapt to life around it. It has a strong connection between carer and patient that reaches friendship. This shows that people you meet in life can guide you in ways you never imagined. The movie is guided by amazing performances from Monica Dolan and Kelly Macdonald who strike up a wonderful chemistry. However, Monica Dolan gives one of the best performances of the year.
