X-Men 97 (Disney Plus) is back again this week with the first in a two parter, which hopefully isn’t the season finale but probably is. Bastion has revealed himself and his plan, and the X-Men are outnumbered and outgunned, even with the additional support from Cable. Some classic phrases during this episode, including Beast and his “My stars and garters!” And Professor X with “To me, my X-Men!”, not to mention the iconic phrase “Magneto was right.” Shoutouts to Omega Red and Silver Samurai were welcomed, and seeing Roberto finally using all of his powers to save Jubilee was nice. Can Sunspot make the opening credits this season?

Parasite: The Grey (Netflix) is one of the weirdest concepts, and so utterly bizarre that I understand why Netflix rolled the dice on this and just went ahead and added audio description out of the gate. With other foreign hits, we usually have to wait. Most of the time, it never comes. I never did get to see that Korean hit All Of My Friends Are Dead (I think that was the name). But this has alien creatures exploding out of peoples faces, and talking about their need to consume humans. And then one of them stand against the others as they are merged with their human counterpart. If you are a lover of sci-fi/horror, there really isn’t anything like this out there. Not my favorite audio description of the year, but I’m trying not to shout that from the rooftops, because I want Netflix to describe more of their international content.

The Good Doctor (Hulu) is getting closer to the end, and I think Glassman just got some bad news we’ll find more about in the coming remaining episodes. But, as Jordan processed her friends death through a patient who claimed to be Jesus, and a family anxiously waited for a kidney donor, as well as getting to see Leah look for a nanny and the creative solution that went along with that, I think that this really put the show in a solid position for its finale. I’m going to be sad to see this series go, but the description (while not terrible), did experience a dip in quality from when Tristan Snyder was in charge of the narration.

chucky (Peacock) is so off the rails. You can’t watch this show hoping it will ever make sense. Chucky is now a ghost, killing people and hoping that his weird voodoo God will be appeased by the weirdest ways he can find to kill people. Honestly, I kind of agreed with the ghost of Charles when he was listing all the ways he had already killed people before. like… what else could his weird voodoo god possibly want? The only thing left is that weird cartoon death where a piano falls on someone.

I finished Season 2 of Not Dead yet (Hulu) which wrapped like they think they might be cancelled, but also put a really interesting twist out there for Season 3. personally, I think the twist is worth the renewal. If the show doesn’t work on linear, perhaps it would work on Hulu? I don’t know why people aren’t watching this. It’s a great show. Audio description is still.. not great, but not terrible, and Vi-Tech has found little ways to attempt to improve all their AD since the first episodes they started on.

Apples Never Fall (Peacock) finished with an ending that could have been more interesting, and was kinda like… I watched six shitty episodes for that? If the Emmys go for this, I’m not watching. There are so many terrific limited series from the past year, this is easily one of the worst, but my love for Annette Bening got me through all seven episodes. Georgia Flood is an awful actress. that may feel mean, but in a sea of people delivering underwhelming work, she STILl stood out. This is not the best from Alison Brie, Sam Neill, or Annette Bening. No one was actually good in this. Yet still, her performance was on a different level. And the cheerful audio description never matched.

Loot (Apple Plus) featured a hilarious and totally relatable smoke detector sequence. that alone made the whole episode worth it. Maya Rudolph is a comic genius. I hope they use that for her Emmy submission. She might actually get nominated off that alone.
