Buzz worthy books of the week

The Pull List: 1/13/2016 Agents of SHIELD #1

Marvel gives Agent Coulson a team looking made of the TV's comic counterparts, including Deathlok who I still don't know why isn't a bigger part of the series. I mean, I'm sure there is a reason, but if that reason is strictly narrative based than they should definitely look beyond that.

All New X-Men #3

This feels like a good old fashioned X-Men story. A Good old-fashioned superhero story. Mutants, on their own, on the run, fighting their own, trying to protect their own image. It is everything that has been missing in Marvel's X-Men corner of the universe.

Huck #3

One of my favorite books of the year, and only 2 issues were actually released during the year. It is as if Mark Millar took everything I usually hate about his work (no offense, Mark!) and just doing the opposite. It has been surprisingly compelling and entertainingly economic.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #0

Honestly, I never expected Power Rangers to have such a nostalgic loyalty to its brand, but once news of a movie were happening, all the old fans came out of the woodwork with real enthusiasm. So while I am not at all that interested in this IP anymore, I'm sure someone is.

Robin War #2

The conclusion to the Robin War. It has been a fun ride so far. A little shorter than I thought it would be though.

Secret Wars #9

So, I never bothered to actually read this series. 1 or 2 issues maybe. I actually didn't know it hadn't concluded considering the Marvel universe that it spawned is already 2 to 3 months in for some books. Anyway, maybe this can help answer some of the questions that have been danced around. Like what happened to Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and Cyclops. And how did Miles Morales and Old Man Logan find there way to our world.

Spirit Leaves #1

I want to give this book a shout out because it isn't often I can point toward a publisher who isn't Marvel or DC or Image. I have never even heard of Chapterhouse Comics, but I find the art on the cover sort of mesmerizing. And the idea of a magical girl going on her first adventure.
