Story: The Price We Pay starts when former army ranger Cody (Dorff), loose cannon Alex (Hirsch) and his brother Shane (Zagarino) rob a pawn shop. They are forced to turn to customer Grace (Zumbado) to escape and find themselves stumbling on a remote farmhouse.

Once they arrive, they learn that a Doctor (Wells) has plans for visitors along with his family. Now the criminals and Grace face a new battle to survive against much deadlier enemies.

Verdict on The Price We Pay

The Price We Pay is a horror thriller following a group of criminals who look to hide out in a farmhouse. However, once they arrive at the farmhouse, they learn of a much deadlier group of people using it for their own twisted games.

This is the latest blood splatter fest from director Ryuhei Kitamura. Whose previous films include The Midnight Meat Train and No One Lives. He brings a similar formula to the table, with criminals facing a deadlier series of criminals and needing to fight to survive. It doesn’t hold back on any of the violence or bloodshed. However, it doesn’t seem to do as much to make it stand out with an iconic figure as many of his other movies. It is surprising to see actors like Emile Hirsch and Stephen Dorff in movies this violent because, by the end, it does feel like a typical violent horror movie.

Where to Watch: The Price We Pay is Released on digital 16th October 2023.

Final ThoughtsThe Price We Pay is disturbingly violent.
